Little eggs?

Hello!

Still learning chickens and my older girls didn’t do this. I’ve had a fairy egg from the older girls once in awhile (no yolks and small), but my sapphire gem just started laying one week ago!! Woohoo!! Her eggs are all small. She’s laid 6 out of 7 days. Still waiting on the other new comers to lay. My question I guess is… how long will they be small eggs? They have all had a yolk for the ones we’ve eaten. Thanks for the advice!

My Blue sapphire has been laying for 2 wks and I notice her eggs have gotten bigger, but I don't think they are "to size" yet

Sapphire gems are egg laying machines. I have a few and their eggs are massive. It’s takes a bit once their system starts working, they themselves have to put on some weight and such. Give it some time, I’m sure they’ll get much bigger.

Mine all ended up laying 4-6 eggs a week and every one of them puts a jumbo store bought to shame.

That’s awesome!! Thank you so much. Good to know. I will let her do her thing haha. My EE eggs are ginormous as well. It’s crazy how big they can be.
