Little Giant NIGHTMARE!

I am building my own incubator. it has been running for the past week and at best I have had a three day period that would not have killed eggs. I am once again up to three days so I might set a new record lol. No way woudl I be ordering eggs and then trying to get an incubator set up. way to many mistakes to make. placing it int he wrong location. I have had mine over heat because tha sun was shining on it. cool down because the place I have it drops to 60 degrees at night. and drop all the way to 88 degrees like clock work for the first three 24 hour periods until I realized the top was warping jsut as it got to a nice 99.5 to 100 degrees. I think I have theoretically killed about 12 dozen eggs so far. something new to figure out every day but until this incubator runs for a full 23 days without messing up I would not dream of putting an egg in it. And to top it off just as this design is showing some promise of working. I plan to completely change it. Oh by the way I am expecting my first egg about a year from now if all goes well. at least my first serious eggs. I do plan to hatch a few others between now and then.

Another victim of LITTLE MONSTER (LG). Don,t feel bad, other styrobators are only a little bit "better".

Depending on what the definition of "better" is.

LOL

My first bator was an LG. The first time using it the temp was all over despite how little I turned the knob. I ended up with a 0 hatch. I called LG and complained. They told me to return it to TSC. I did so, then spent the extra $80 and got a Hovabator Genisis. What a difference. The Genisis is so much better than the LG. I know some people have good luck w/ the LG, but I have seen far more complaints than people who like them.

I hatch in an LG and I will be building a shelf for it in my next makeover!
These hatched March 6th this year!

19/23 that went into lockdown!

I retired my LG last week after a horrible hatch..used it last year with decent results,..?? Anyway, I ordered the Brinsea 20 Eco last Tuesday and I received it on Friday..cost $124.99. Just food for thought.

I've heard that the wafers go bad after a couple of years and need to be replaced. Just an fyi in case you want to keep it for a hatcher or as a back up bator.
