Lock Question

What kinds of locks are raccoon-safe? Can you use a lock with a key and hang the key nearby?

That would work beautifully. I might tie they key to something nearby so the coon doesn't pick it up and take it with him.

Well...I'm horrible about keys. I think carabiners are great for basic security.

I've used the hasp with a turning part with a hole for a lock...then just get a big spring loaded hook, like on a dog's leash...i just realized that sounds like gibberish...so here!

We realized we forgot to buy two pieces of wood, so we picked up two safety hasps and we have locks at home, and we'll tie the key up nearby.

I use luggage locks - bought at Target. One key fits both of the locks (one on the human door, one on the pop door). I hang it on a cup hook beside the human door. If it gets lost, there are 3 more in the house. A package of 4 locks an 4 keys cost around $5.

My sister insists there are no raccoons in this area(to believe or not?) so we took two of those eyes(like screws with loops on the end) and attached them with a safety pin.
