So I am on day 16 of incubation for my silkie eggs, and I am just preparing for lockdown. This is my first time incubating, and a question I have is, what percent should the humidity be? I’ve read but they give me so many different answers. Right now I’ve kept the eggs at around 47-48 percent humidity and they are doing great.

Help would be greatly appreciated!

Another quick question. I am going to be gone when it will officially be day 18 for lockdown, which is around 2:30PM. Would it be better to raise the humidity a couple hours before or after day 18? If I did it after it would be around an hour and thirty minutes. If I did it before it would be 8 hours earlier.

I don’t think it would matter either way, but if it was me, I’d opt for before.

Thank you for the feed back! My incubator has an automatic turner, and I don’t know if I can turn it off until it hits day 18. Would it be okay for them to keep turning for 8 hours even if the humidity is up?

I guess I forgot I can take the divider out so it wouldn’t turn the eggs. Should I take it out then?
