I have a french copper maran rooster. He is 5 months old. He is huge! He doesn't come when I call hens for scratch. He is always off by himself. Hasn't crowed yet either. I thought he could be deaf, as he is still on the roost, when all others are eating scratch. I believe I have another much smaller rooster too. They haven't gone after each other, so I haven't had to seperate them. Any ideas? I have researched deaf chickens, and I guess that's not possible.

Hey there!
i don’t think chickens are deaf but they can be for sure it’s a natural thing but like u mentioned he sat by himself alone
it reminds me an incident when my rooster teetee died my other rooster tootoo hardly crowing

they need compilation to crow i think in my eyes they need some fun like one rooster alone feel very lonely in my eyes they need someone like them to cheer or to crow i think he need a buddy :)

He's five months old, still a juvenile. Size doesn't matter in this, personality and maturity do. Different chickens mature at different rates. Nothing you've said so far sounds alarming.

Aart has asked good questions, the answers could point several different ways. I'd be interested in how old any other males are. Any mature hens? I'll wait on your answers to comment further.
