I was on feathersite awhile ago and was impressed with the pictures they have of the various breeds of Longcrowers. Anyone got any Longcrower pics to share? If this is successful enough, I might call it the Longcrower Thread....

I only have some Koeyoshi pics. these were from a friend of mine, but unfortunately they died out due to a very weak bloodline (a serious problem in the base of birds in Western-Europe). Koeyoshi in Japan also is in trouble we heard.
This color is typical for the breed and called Go-shiki (five color) older birds have those fleshy faces.

older bird. He's a cross satsumadori-Koeyoshi (bred for vigor) He looked more powerfull than a pure Koeyoshi looks like, but the crow on this bird was just as characteristic as the long, deep, forghornlike sound they should have.

Great-lookin' birds! I'm sorry to hear that Koeyoshis are doing so poorly--I certainly hope there are enough people preserving them to keep them around for years and years to come. Love that Satsumadori X Koeyoshi cock!

HI Gresh, Gladly some breeders are working hard to keep them goiing. We just keep our fingers crossed that they will succeed. Would be a shame to loose this unique breed.

Just adopted some from Toni-Marie Astin and a mutual friend Will Lawrence.
Got a couple denizili, then some longtail and asil blends with , tomaru, kurokashwa, denizili and a very cool little ohiki x denizili roo. Will get some pics up when I have time to get some. Just got them a few weeks ago and they are all in heavy molt right now, as soon as they feather back, I'll post away

Tomaru Longcrowers in the US don't crow very long but there is a Denizli breeder here in the US, in fact the famous "Heavy Metal Rooster" I believe belongs to him. I'd say look it up, I know I saw him auction some eggs a while ago on other sites.

I'd LOOOVE to get my hands on some Koeyoshis. They're of my two favorites among longcrowers. They sound like a chainsaw or an elongated roaring, growling, gurgling mix, and their Gamefowl-like body is very attractive to me. Kosova Longcrowers are another favorite.
