We are heading into our 2nd year with chickens and are expanding our flock. We made the mistake of buying a box coop first time around and after a year it desperately needs replaced. We are looking to build an elevated 4x6 coop with a 4x6 run. I am hoping to have the 2 ft space beneath the coop to help integrate the new birds into the existing flock. Does anyone have any plans? We are not woodworkers so the easier the plans the better. Thanks in advance for your help.

Welcome!

Im still working on details for mine, but here is my design so far.

The coop is 6' deep, 4' wide, and the run totals 6' deep and 12' in length. Ive since changed the coop to be 5' wide instead of 4, and the nesting boxes will extended to the outside of the coop instead of being all inside. Of course, on yours you can just design the run to be 4' instead of 12, but hopefully this can help give you some ideas.

That might not be quite enough space for integration.
How many birds do you have now and what is your climate/location?

Have you considered buying a shed and adding roosts, nests, etc?

Welcome to BYC!
