Hi
I am new here and looking for some pigeon or dove eggs that I can hatch. If anyone out there has any info or any I would surely be interested.
Thanks

Have you researched hatching pigeon/doves. To begin with the eggs are super teeny tiny and would most likely not make it if shipped, secondly if they do hatch they need to be handfed every two hours tops a special food. It is MUCH easier to buy adults. Not trying to be mean just trying to give you the facts.

Hi
Yeah I do realize the difficulty of hatching these types of eggs and feeding them and raising them. I have hatched crow eggs, robin eggs, sparrow eggs and a few other and raised them up to adulthood. To me its the challenge that makes it a hobby for me. Ive hatched about every kind of chicken egg and have an awesome incubator that does everything for me. Just something im interested in. I was going to buy some adults but wanted to try this first. Also much more personable offspring.

Ok, well wow im impressed! Sorry a large amount of my doves got out of my aviary and have to rebuild my flock before selling eggs... Have you had any of these tiny bird eggs shipped? Are you a wildlife rehabilitator? How did you have a crow, robin and sparrow?

Yeah sometimes it feels like im a little crazy, but the crow was a nest that was destroyed by electrical company removing trees and I was able to save two of the eggs and one hatched, I think the other was damaged so it never hatched. Once it was grown I kept it for a year and played with it like a dog, but took it to an aviary after that so It could be more free. The sparrows robins and blackbirds that ive hatched out stayed around my house for a year or two then either flew away or a cat got them. I didn't have any cats but there were cats in the neighborhood. I haven't ever had them shipped in the mail. I have had chicken and pheasant eggs shipped to me all the time. I would think if packaged right it would be ok. The hatch ratio does go down considering the mail and time, but im still getting about 60% hatch ratio with Chickens and Pheasants. I have been wanting to do this now for quite some time, but haven't had the opportunity.
