Lost our first hen to a....................................?

What are your hens diet? Do they have clean water at all times? Did they get into any poisons? Can you give your flock a round of yogurt with vitamins B complex and E ? Here is what I use

As I previously mentioned, they get fresh treated water and are fed Purina Flock Raiser Crumbles. Treats are Black sunflower seeds, Black Fly larvae mixed with Oatmeal flakes. We occasionally give them a head of lettuce. No poisons on our property. How would I administer that B-complex? They have had Yogurt in the past as a treat. (Greek Yogurt unsweetened and unflavored)

Sorry, I didn't see your previous post 😅
Okay, maybe only give the treats once a month or every other month? How old is the feed? Sometimes old feed can cause sickness. ☺️

I do two capsules of each, squeeze them into 2-4 cups of yogurt, mix well and let the flock enjoy 🥰

I'm sorry you are going thru so much! :hugs

Well, I buy a bag of feed and when it's gone I buy another. I'd say on average about once a month.............so the feed isn't old and moldy or anything like that. Hmmm. I thought the treats I was giving them were good for them. I'll cut way back as you've suggested.

Good to know!

Yeah....when I was beginning chicken keeping I thought they needed all kinds of treats . I cut back and it solved a lot of problems😄
Have any of the other hens showed signs of sickness?

"Have any of the other hens showed signs of sickness?" Well, they have all looked healthy..............even the two who died. That's why I'm so puzzled.

Okay, for tomorrow's errand list:

One Bale Wood Chip Bedding
Greek Yogurt
Vit B Complex (Irwin Naturals)
Bio E + Selinium (Solar Ray)

Thanks, CCs Garden. Much appreciated. Sure hope that will keep any more from dying. I love my chickie girls..........they are all pets. Hurts to lose two in one week and not even know why.

I'm sorry about your losses.

If you think you have a predator or something else may be going on, set up a couple of game cams.
I've found them to be a useful tool. Set one up outside your coop and one monitoring your chickens.
