So after losing 30 of my babies to animal attacks this year I've decided it was time to call in some new members to the family. Thank Jesus Picasso survived the attacks as he will continue his triumphant reign as head rooster of the farm. I kinda went all out when ordering and wound up with Six different breeds, 40 birds in total! I know, not as much as I would have liked but my gorgeous wife reminded me we have to keep room for the Aseel when he is located.
My babies will arrive somewhere around march 21st so that gives us time to prepare a nice set up for them to live in. I'm so elated I'm heavily considering building a tractor for them. The old coop is fine I just feel that a new flock deserves a new set up. I feel whats left of the OG's will have no issue adjusting to a scorn of healthy new blood. Chucks old buffs have always taken well to new comers and babies alike. Can't really say the same for the rocks or reds tho lol. Anyhow I thought I would share whats been going on to anyone interested. With a New coop or expansion to the old one afoot, and a possible chicken tractor in the looms as well as a habitat for the enormous flock of chicks on the way. I can't see it being dull around here anytime soon.
I hope everyone is having an easy winter and expecting many a new babies. I plan on incubating alot of cross breeds this year
