I was wondering which breeds are the loudest and which are the quietest out of all the duck breeds. Any thoughts would be appreciated Thank you!

My pekins were quackers. They had to tell you everything when they ran up to you.
My Khakis were not as loud.
Muscovies are quiet. At least, the ones I've been around do not have alot to say.

I second Pekins being loud. And noisy for no good reason. They seem to be walking around the garden gossiping to one another.

The muscovy only coos when she is getting good snuggles.

A lot depends on the individual duck. It seems like my loudest ducks are the most friendly individuals. The birds I have bought as adults from larger breeders are generally not as loud it seems. The loudest breed I have had in awhile were Welsh Harlequins. A couple of mine were incredibly loud. I also have a few Mallards that will just about pop your eardrums. My Runners are, overall, not as loud as some of my others (but I do have a couple Runners that are extremely loud). All the rest of my large breeds have been middle of the road as far as noise.

My bantam ducks, for the most part, are relatively quiet. I never hear a peep out of most of them. In actuality, the Calls that I have are also fairly quiet. I think I have just been lucky so far with those because they are known for being really loud.

I agree with the friendlier they are the louder they get. I have female khakis and they are 2 years old. This year they have gotten noisier, but nothing like a pekin. OMG, I had to re-home my pekin cuz she was such a loud quacker, especially at 3 in the morning!

my dad had a Teal. he said he doesn't remember it quacking. I have scovies. no quacks from them. squeeks when i check mommy's nest and hisses from daddy cuz he is lonely and talks to everyone on the phone
