Maggot looking thing in egg

Just cracked an egg and a maggot looked like it was in it. Wasn't moving but how did it get in there?

Next egg looks normal. Afraid to eat these eggs now

I didn't take any . It looked like a small white worms likeaggot with a head like a maggot (brown spot on end). Eggs have been sitting on counter for a few days...It is cold here, no more flies, and the egg didn't look damaged.

I have never had anything in my eggs so don't know. Did you take a picture you can post?

Could it have been just a weird looking meat spot?
A maggot can't physically get through a hard egg shell.

I tried it only comes up with maggots ON chickens or in old eggs. I thought oh no my chickens have worms but that's not what worms look like. Not a meat spot. It was white about 1/4" long, squicky just with what looked like a head and tail.
