I"m frustrated by the inability of my local feed stores to keep chicken feed in stock. They have feed, just not the same ones and not always something I want, except for Purina, and I don't like the way eggs taste on Purina. Do you mail order feed for your birds? What do you get and from where? How does that work out for you? Right now I've got a mixed flock (6 birds: 1 roo, 2 seniors, 3 too young to lay at about 3 or4 months old) and I'm looking for a flock raiser type of feed. TIA for any advice or your experiences.

I do the same as @WingItRanch - sometimes I get the Kalmbach full plume feathering feed which is high protein like the Flock Maker but with added calcium.
But it is winter and not much egg laying is going on so I get Flock Maker.
I find Chewy usually has reasonably fresh feed.

What does it cost to ship?
Anything above 35 bucks ships free. What I do is order 2 bags at a time so I get free shipping. 2 bags lasts about 3 months for my flock of 7 so it works well (I also feed kalmbach flock maker pellets)

What does it cost to ship?
I'm sure the price will very depending on your location (tax cost and shipping will change) but here's my breakdown.

Although, now that I read @FrostRanger post, I feel like an idiot. I didn't realize it was free shipping if I ordered 2 bags. Autoship also has a small discount.
