major dog problems.

Sounds like there bored and need some long walks or some type of excercise. Little bit of cabin fever, they can feel spring coming on and there ready!

they are both really smart..they know how to shake and fetch and the border collie will do almost anything you tell him to do but god..its as if they want to see who can act the worst or something!
they will play in the yard with us but neither of them will allow themselves to be led on a leash..which to me was odd because most dogs will eventually get with the program. i am 100 percent sure their problem is my lack of knowing very much about dog behavior but still, i am so frustrated/grossed out! it does help to know that other people have gross dogs too.

Yes, my dogs are both girls and they do the hump to each other. They're nasty little buggers.
Have you tried to use a pinch collar when walking them? My bulldog was a beast to take on walks until we used a pinch collar on her. Now she doesn't pull at all.

ive thought about it. mine hump each other too..i mean..right there in the yard in front of the whole yard, and then they start the licking..i almost want to put pants on them or something!

Something else I do for my dogs is give them Kongs full of treats. I pack them really full so it's hard for them to get the treats out so it takes forever. My bulldog literally sits there for hours trying to get the treats out.

maybe ill have to try that.. i really hate being such a lousy dog owner and i do like the dogs a lot but its just that they do these gross and destructive things all the time!

Your not a bad dog owner. I too at one time wanted to get rid of my dogs until I realized I wasn't giving my dogs enough to do. Your doing the right thing by asking questions. How are you supposed to know why your dogs are licking____? You don't speak dog. I'm sure you'll find a solution.

hi I have had many of dogs and trained a many of dogs the best thing I have found is a shaker can . You shake it when ever they are doing anything wrong barking, digging, ect . it realy gets their attention and easy to make get a can and put some nuts and bolts in it and cover with a plastic cover with duct tape you can shake it through it (but don't hit them with it) good luck

hey i like that idea! i bet it would help alot, because for whatever reason, they freak out over any noise at all.
