A Wyandotte shouldnt have a straight comb

They shouldn't, but hatchery quality wyandottes can have single combs.

Was wondering if anyone could identify of my chick is a hen or a roo. I’m pretty sure it’s a golden lace Wyandotte

I vote cockerel for now, but I would wait and see how the chick develops.

Comb: Wyandottes are supposed to have rose combs.
But two rose comb Wyandottes can sometimes produce single comb chicks.

Laced Wyandottes are supposed to have a single dark edge on a light feather. That chick has feathers with a dark edge, a light portion, and a dark center. (Especially visible near the shoulders, in the first photo in post #11.)

Either it's a poor-quality "Wyandotte," or it's something else.
I think it's something else, but I'm having trouble guessing what.
Barnevelder, maybe?
I've seen Dark Cornish with similar feathers, but the comb is wrong for them.

Thanks for the info! I was wondering if it could just be a watered down GL Wyandotte or something
