You will be getting no eggs from him. He's definitely a cockerel albeit slow to mature. He almost looks as if he had poor nutrition or coccidiosis which could account for his smaller size

I don't have anything useful to add. I can see why someone says female, given the comb size/color at 5 months. And I can also see why so many people say male, even considering the age. I don't know who is correct. I would just keep waiting until it does become clear, or else get a DNA sex test if you are tired of waiting.
