Mandarin Duck thread ( for posting pictures and discussing)

i would watch them and listen to them, then figure out then to stop turning, and be sure to go into settings and turn off the turning, is the turn angle on 7? thats the best for all types of smaller duck eggs like mallards and bantam duck breeds, and be sure it turns them hourly so every 60 minutes, it doesn't say an hour on the turn interval, so be sure its on 60 minutes, during hatch make sure you have some water in the incubator, and lower the temp to about 97 to 98.6. And you do know how to stop the turning manually right?

for some muscovies they started wobbling and making small sounds at a week or five days ( can't remember) till hatch, and if i hadn't watched them then i would have missed it and they probably wouldn't have hatched, so always be sure to watch them. I know muscovies aren't anywhere near as a mandarin hatch but hatching early or late can happen to any breed so be sure to always watch :)

and for them imprint easier its great to talk to them so they know your voice a week prior to hatch,

As long as you stay committed shelly they'll hatch :)

Yes they are hard to candle when you are worried you might kill the baby just by picking it up.

Its my first time and you are right about me over saying that it might die, but its scary. I know its normal if they don't hatch a lot of times but I still wonder if I did something wrong. Oh, the male was really interested in the box today and I've never seen him like that before any information?
