March 16th Silkie Hatch-A-Long!

Hey y'all! #2,4,5,and 6 don't have names so if anyone has suggestions, let me know!

I decided to let y'all name the eggs instead of me naming a few so y'all name away!!
I am so excited for you!! Can you tell us more about the eggs - do you know what colors the parents were? Did you get them local or were they shipped? Have you incubated silkies before? This is just so exciting!!!

Thank you!

The colors of the parents were (I THINK) white, blue, buff, black, and partridge, although I can't be sure. These eggs were shipped in. I have never incubated before. In fact, I have never had chickens before! I am so excited also!

Hi there! I just got fertile silkie eggs and I am so excited for it!! I will be bringing y'all through my journey of hatching these beautiful eggs!

View attachment 4073317I would really appreciate some name suggestions!!

I will edit this post with great name ideas for a certain egg.

These are temporary. If you have a better suggestion, let me know.

I know this is suckish but I can only name the eggs and not the chicks because my family is going to name the chicks.
It isn't letting me edit that post anymore so I will edit this one or post a new one every time.

Thank you!

Oooh congratulations. That is sooo exciting!!! Let us know when you candle them the first time - I hope you have a lot of developing eggs 🤞🤞🤞💕

Thank you! I think I am going to candle them soon! Thing is... I don't know what day they were hatched soooo...
You won’t be able to see any development from candling until at least 72 hours from when you put them in the incubator. For example, if you put them in the incubator on Sunday Morning at 9 am, then the very earliest you may see something would be Wednesday morning, however I usually wait an extra 12 hours. So in this scenario I would candle them on Wednesday night. And even then, you may not see anything.

At 7 days into the incubation (in the example scenario that would be the following Sunday) then you should be able to tell pretty well which ones are developing and which ones aren’t!
