Does anybody have any success stories of their chicken with Marek's disease and giving them acyclovir or doxycycline? There is minimal research from what I have found but possible potential?

No, that's part of why I'm hoping its a vitamin deficiency instead. I'm not planning on giving acyclovir, as I'm not educated enough to know an accurate dose and obviously don't want to send him into kidney failure. Just curious after bits of research.Do you have a confirmed case of Mareks by a lab or state vet?
Good for you. There is an answer for most things. I applaud you for finding a way to save those you love.Do not use Valacyclovir. It does buy time but all the birds we used it on needed higher and higher doses until it was no longer effective. The virus reactivates with a vengeance and the bird fails in 2-3 days.
Chinese Skullcap with a Baicalin content of 85%.
500mg daily for a minimum of two weeks. All Bantams and most hybrids require two doses daily. If you go over two weeks...taper down to 30mg daily as a prophylactic to prevent it flaring back up. The prophylactic dose also prevents the rest of the flock from getting it.
Seek a FB page called Positive About Marek's Disease and Avian Leukosis Virus. We have 1 year of hundreds of flock owners using it to treat and prevent.
This is not a sales tactic. This is me not accepting the general consensus that my flock was doomed and putting my career researching medical records and research to personal use and proving the status quo wrong.
