Maryland Chicken Laws

I'm reviving this thread a little. In Calvert County, we are required to have THREE ACRES for any sort of livestock, chickens included, not matter whether it's 2 or twenty. If there's anyone on this forum who is from Calvert and has any information other than this, I'd love to know. The last I heard, it was up for discussion about a year ago, but the only change that was made was that, if you lived on less than three acres and wanted a small flock, you must send a petition to the Calvert Co. Council. Of course, everything is subject to the covenants of a particular neighborhood as well.

So Can i ask a question Is it worth registering your flock I have 14 chickens All Hens all for egg production I do not sell my eggs I do give some to firends and family. My concern being in the State of Maryland they will try to find a way to tax the chickens or mess with me in some way shape or form The way I read it is mainly thye say by registering they will let you know if any dieses hits the area is that true or do they have other motives behind it
