Hi! I discussed this on another person’s thread, but I would like to post pictures of my chicks and see what people would say.
I have 2 Turken chicks I purchased from Tractor Supply around 4 weeks ago. They’re absolutely humongous compared to the other chicks. What could this be? Are they meat birds? They are more than double the size of the other chicks, who are the same age. They look a little bit like Cornish crosses to me.
*The chick shown in the picture is being treated for a neck injury, which is why he is confined to a pet carrier at the moment*

Looks like a cornish, not a turken. It will probably get neck feathers eventually. Looks like a male as well.
Actually?? Tractor supply advertised them as Turkens! I’ll attach a picture of when I first got them. I am definite on the Turkens being male, they’re developing so fast!
I am absolutely certain they are Turkens for the fact they were born with naked necks. Unless Cornish chicks are born with that I doubt they’re 100% cornish

Tractor supply is notorious for mixing up birds in bins. Maybe there are turken Cornish now? They do look like Turken as chicks. I have no idea now. It just might be a very fat turken. See how it grows up.
This is discussed in the other thread. Someone is breeding a Cornish Turken cross but itsrbeinf sold as a regular Turken. I will try to find the thread. But they are definitely Turkens. I’ve never seen another breed start out without neck feathers

Oh yes, definitely! I just hope it works out for my boys. They make an audible “THUD” when they jump off my leg, and they’re heavy compared to the other babies. I’m curious to see how much they weigh.

What?? Oh man! My chickens are my pets so if I had known that I wouldn’t have bought them :(
