May hatch along :)

I'm a little worried about about one of my chicks one of its legs is sticking out a bit more than I feel it should. It hasn't interfered with it walking around. Should I brace it's leg?

I would watch it and see if it gets better on its' own if it is not too far apart. i have never had good success with bracing it because they have trouble getting around . However, I had a couple that seemed wide stanced and it was fine in a couple days.

thank you I was hoping to hear something like that.

Lol I suppose I'll join this hatch along again hahaha. I acquired 16 coturnix eggs, I can't wait again!
Ooh yay! Exciting!

2 of my poults have/had curled toes, the one I was able to fix with band-aid fabric as a splint but the other I can't figure how to fix. I tried the band-aid fabric but it only straightened the toes somewhat, but when the toes are straight in the splint it can't walk, it just falls down and keeps it's feet straight out the back. And without the splint it can only barely stumble around on its curled up feet curled up like fists. Any suggestions what I can do to help it are greatly appreciated.
Could you make a little cardboard splint and attach that with band-aids?

I have 6 eggs under a broody on day 20 and I'm very impatiently waiting.. lol

Ooh! Soo close! Goodluck!

So I am having a hard time getting the temp to stay above 99-100...humidity is good though. Do you think the eggs could still hatch? I'm going to take the one baby out in the morning...or maybe later tonight, depending on how the night goes...should I just grab it quick, or should I candle the other eggs really quickly? I'm leaning towards just waiting. I'm prepared to leave them in until Friday. Waiting stinks. :p I was hoping another would have at least pipped by now! Day 21 is tomorrow at 5 am.

Candled my eggs last night day 7. Excited to say my shipped eggs are doing pretty good 5 out of 6 eggs are developing. All 6 of my EE eggs are developing And 4 out of 5 are developing.

The one has only a cardboard splint on the middle toe now it will be fixed hopefully by morning,It is doing well participating in sorting out the pecking order. Sadly though while i was out for 30 mins my little cripple poult drowned itself in the little lid of water I had for it to drink out of. I have 4 ridley bronze poults now. On a good note they are very healthy poults that eat and drink just fine.

Has anyone hatched out coturnix quail? I read online 16 days and I also read 18 days. When should I put them on lockdown?
