The chickens sure do love a treat of mealworms!

For those that raise their own mealworms, what do you use for the bedding? These rolled oats are so hard to sift through.

For those that raise their own mealworms, what do you use for the bedding?

I use wheat bran. But I don't sift until the drawer's nearly exhausted; I just pick out the largest I can find as needed until then. It only takes a few minutes, and I can extract any pupae I find as I go along (and put them somewhere safe till they metamorphose into beetles, then pop them in that drawer).

I want to start raising mealworms for my chickens. Order from Amazon? Any advice. Thank you.
