I have a quick question. I have a bag of mealworms I bought from TSC. They are not alive. They are kinda dried meal worms.

I read the sticky about worms, night crawlers and mealworms being given to ducklings at 4 weeks of age. This was talking about live or thawed. Should I still wait till 4 weeks to give them any?

I give freeze dried meal worms and live earthworms to all my ducks and chickens. ONLY give food other than their feed after the ducklings or chicks have had access to grit/sand. I give treats at about a week old but I make sure they have had access to sand for a few days before I start giving treats. This helps them grind up the food.

You should be fine either way. They may eat them quicker if in a separate bowl

Thank you Apyl. I'll be sure to do that.
Should I mix grit in with their food, or have a seperate bowl for it?
I do mine is a seprate bowl so they have it whenever they feel they need it. I just use the sand/dirt from our yard since they all eventually open range . Plus my yard is 90% sand mixed with a little dirt.

If I knew my yard was like yours, I'd probably do the same. So, I'm gonna play it safe and go out and buy a small bag of grit for now. I have to go to TSC anyways, so it won't hurt. I'd rather be safe than sorry.
