Mean ass moma

How old is it? When I get baby chicks in the mail, I pick each one up like a dart and poke its little beak in sugar water (1 tsp sugar to 1 c warm water), but I figure they are stressed from travel. Yours may be suffering from shock so sugar water may be a good idea until it starts drinking on its own. Then, when its beak is wet, same technique, dip it in the chick crumbles. They usually start eating and drinking right away after that. They don't really need to eat and drink until Day Three, as the absorbed yolk will keep them going until then. You can do this! Just don't let those injured tissues dry out.
Will our kind of triple antibiotic ointment work for tonight?

You don't need an animal friendly ointment. Neosporin, Bacitracin or a generic equivalent will do. Even Vaseline in a pinch. Just make sure it does NOT contain a pain-relieving ingredient, as this is toxic to chickens. And don't let it dry out. It will heal. Did I tell you you can make a saline solution, put it in a spray bottle, spray it good twice a day, gently blot it dry with a clean towel, then put the ointment on?

Ok
Yes. That's what you need. As long as it does not have pain reliever in it. If it does, it won't hurt to use it once, if you can get the other tomorrow.
Ok great thank you for replying I was so worried 😟
