I might try this if they still have eggs available when my hens start going broody. I can start the eggs in the incubator and cull any early quitters, detached air cells etc. while the broody is sitting on fakes, and when they cross the one week mark, I'll give her whatever eggs are still looking viable. Maybe even past one week. Last year I gave a broody eggs from the incubator that were halfway done and she finished them up and raised them. That way I won't overwhelm her with all 12, half of which are going to fail anyway.
