Metzer Farms?

Hello all, I live in Texas and would like to order from Metzer Farms, they have breeds i very much want and that i can’t find here. The only issue for me is that they’re all the way in California, I worry that is too long of a travel for the ducks, has anyone ordered from them that lives far away? What’s your experience?

I have ordered from Metzer a few times without issue and I am on the other side of the country. I lost one duck the year before last out of 18 but there was an overnight delay with the post office so that is to be expected. I got a credit for the bird too. Very nice people to deal with and very understanding. My birds were luck in that they had grow gel so they did okay for an extra day in the mail. Never had any other delays.

All are happy and healthy now. And we even let them hatch some chicks this past spring/summer.

There is a youtuber named Matt who runs a channel called 50 ducks in a hot tub. He raises lots of ducks every year and donates them to the homeless. Last year Matt was gifted 1,300 ducks from Metzer, there was only around 30 DOAs. Matt lives in Ontario, Canada, hundreds of miles away from Metzer farms.

I had one order from Metzer. They arrived quickly and all ducklings did well. I wouldn't hesitate to order from them again.

I bought 5 pekins from Mertzer this Jan. I live on the coast of NC. I was hesitate at first since it was first week of Jan and they were traveling coast to coast but since Mertzer is Def in the duck business and they ship internationally I trusted them fulfilling my order. Girls arrived on time and healthy and thriving and correctly sexed. I def will be a returning customer.
