With the high demand for chickens and major hatcheries nearly sold out, I recently went online to search for specific high-producing egg layers like ISA Browns, NovoGen, and other prolific breeds. Surprisingly, I found very few sources offering point-of-lay or already mature laying hens, e
Even day old chicks. I’d appreciate anyone who has any available especially if they are in or can ship to Utah.

One of the only places I came across that still has availability is Heavenly Acres Farms, located in Kemp, Texas. However, I haven’t been able to find any reviews about them.
If anyone has purchased from them or has any feedback, I’d love to hear your experience. Here’s their website: https://heavenlyacresfarms.com.

Looking forward to your insights!
Local feed stores are starting to get chicks, but they sell out as soon as they hit the bins. If you put in a paid order ahead of time, most will pull your chicks before they put the rest out for sale. Some places with online sites will even pack your order separately and deliver them free to your local store. All you have to do is pick them up.
Good Luck!

@Yard Farmer Do you know of any Utah sources for layers?
Thanks for the tag, @Slothinc !

@Sololeveling , I've also had a hard time finding new layers. I was planning on selling eggs this year, but I couldn't get the amout of chicks I wanted for less than $400.
What I'd tell you to do is find someone local that has a mixed flock of Easter eggers, leghorns, any kind of sexlink, rhode island reds, barred rocks, australorps, orpingtons, etc - and buy their mixed chicks.

I've had my mixed breed chicks lay more eggs than my pure breds before. It's not uncommon.

@Sololeveling , I know that the West Jordan C.A.L Ranch does this. They let you pre-order chicks.

Tractor Supply gets chicks from Hoover's. Hoover's has been closed to public orders since they sold out early this season, but they still supply Tractor Supply.
You could look on local Facebook chicken groups for chicks or hatching eggs. I went with hatching eggs this year and was able to get a dozen. If you want chicks you might need to be put on someone's waiting list.
Our TSC is sold out every single day. The only birds I saw in there were some ducks and geese they had the first day and nothing since.

The first week mine had chicks it took 3 days for them to sell out. I don't know how long it took the second week, but they had less chicks and breeds the second week. Luckily, they had the breed I wanted so I got a couple.
The employees told me that they get chicks on Wednesdays.

I was having a hard time finding chicks. I was lucky and found some local breeders. IFA gets a shipment on Fridays. After 2 attempts, I was able to get a few today. If you do try IFA get there early and there are wait lines.
