HAPPY EASTER!!!
We are having family for dinner, ham and all the other good stuff. I haven't done this in a while, but it's more than 'my turn'. Weather not quite good enough for outside, but no complaints here.

Happy Easter. We were supposed to have a get together yesterday with family. But the two grandkids are sick so we postponed it. We usually have a monthly gathering here as there's always a birthday or holiday to celebrate.

We have missed or postponed so many family gatherings, had none for a couple of years over C19, and then some child or other is sick, so yet another miss.
That's life, now that we are 'more mature' and less willing to get some respiratory infection or other.

We missed a lot during the pandemic too. My DIL is so protective of me. She won't bring the kids around if they are sick because of my compromised immune system.

No Easter dinner this year. Son and friend joined me for church, but politely declined suggestion for a dinner gathering. I had some lamb in the freezer, cooked it with oregano and sherry since I didn't have rosemary or wine. Still was delicious.

Chickens appreciated the fat and bones.

Hope you all had a great Easter. We had Easter brunch. The whole day was awesome. Nice enough outside that we had outdoor activities for all ages.

Happy belated Easter, all!

We visited my parents two weekends ago and my inlaws last weekend. This weekend was quiet. Nice to spend time with our teenager (17), because I know she'll be off to college soon. She's already busy between work and school and friends/boyfriend. I remember the age well, so it's nice when she actually chooses to stay home with us. We ordered pizza for dinner lol.

Lots of work going into this week. I need to put together our raised beds and hopefully we'll be having our greenhouse/shed delivered soon. I have small plants that need potting-up and I'm wondering what I did wrong to cause a lot of my seeds not to sprout. Many I can direct sow, so I still have plenty of time

There have been many reports here of poor germination rates with vegetable seeds. I went from buying Burpee, to Baker Creek, had mixed results with germination. I then tried Seed Savers Exchange and am very pleased with how well they are sprouting!
