I know someone whose peahen escaped the day before yesterday and they haven't had any luck finding her. (This if their only peafowl.) They posted this on Facebook, and someone this morning claimed that they saw something strange about a mile and a half from the lady the night before and wondered if that was it. How far will a loose peafowl go? And do you have any tips on finding it and possibly catching her? Thanks!

There is no limit to how far they will go especially if there is not another bird at home calling them back.
Do you know how far they might travel in a day? And do they stay roosting at night like chickens, or are they still mobile like geese?

If she's three, she should be laying. She may be sitting on a nest nearby.
Hopefully that's the case. This peahen wasn't previously free-ranged and she disappeared after she escaped a gap in her pen. She was just moved into a new coop when she found the unsecured gap.
