That is a complicated question. Progress (if indeed it is progress) is surely not linear with time.Hmmm so that means VW is closer to Austen and the Brontes than to us.

Don't stress RC. I know you like a real book & that is my preference too but MJ has rightly pointed out we need to orientate in time so I need to do some extra reading.
