My hen Sweetie has sour crop. I have tried giving yogurt (unpasteur), garlic, ACV, and causing her to vomit. She is not getting any better - this mroning I actually saw her vomit just while scratching around so maybe even worse. I have to go for a work trip for 1 week so I need to help her asap as my husband wont be able to do all that I do for her. I'm reading conflicting advice on monistat - someone said it killed her hen, others say they use it all the time. If it works, which do I buy, what type, what dosage, and how do I administer? Please be specific. I am afraid she will die if I dont get a hold on it.

It seems to have gone down somewhat but not all the way - it feels squishy and she is vomiting. I didnt know that about the garlic so I will stop. Do you think adding molasses to the water would be useful? is that ok for my other 5 hens to drink too?

I wouldn't try to vomit her, you her aspirating choking and dying.

It can take days/weeks to resolve a crop issue depending on the cause.
Being consistent with treatment can help as well.

The article below will walk you through the steps of treating crop issues along with dosing info.

Hi again - my hen still has sour or impacted crop. She still eats And drinks but constantly or almost constantly twists her neck around. I got some copper sulfate — my question is if I put this in the water is it ok for my other 5 healthy hens to drink it too?

Only treat the hen that is having problems. I would not give Acidified Copper Sulfate to whole flock.
