mouse water trap

I've used the water bucket/sunflower seed trap for chipmunks. It works!!
Fill a 5 gallon bucket halfway.
Put enough sunflower seeds to make a layer that looks like a flat surface.
Put a ramp (2x4) going up to the bucket edge and watch!
They jump right in after the seeds and can't get back out.

We have a 5 gallon bucket in our garage that I was keeping sunflower seeds in. I found out mice were getting into it so I took the bag out and some seeds were still in the bottom. Maybe an inch or two. Then they would get in the bucket to get the seeds but couldn't get out. The dog would check that bucket every time the garage door was opened and if there was a mouse, she'd pluck it out of there and take off with it and play with it until it died. We still have the bucket sitting in there but no mice have fallen in for quite a while.

yes you just put a stick over the bucket an fill it half with water they are not the best swimmers.works on coons an opossoms fill garbage can with water an put some rotton meat in there. then lean a board against it they will climb in an cant get out.drowning is not a fun way to die but then again either is having you head ripped off.

I've done something similar inside for mice. Taking an empty paper towel tube and putting some peanut butter on one end. balance the tube on a counter with a trash can under it. They go thru to get the pb and the whole thing goes into the trash can. Sorry guys, I just put them outside. I'm not good with killing stuff. I got a new house cat and she eliminated the mouse problem right away. Much easier!

I know they probably would just find there way back in (although I would take them away from the house). I haven't seen ANY in the house for 2 years since I added the cat. Works for me

I used rice crispies in a 2 1/2 litre pot. they floated better and I have caught one so far 4 to go.
