I figured this was best suited here..

Idk how many of you will recognize my username, but as a reminder...
Back in april I had desperetly been wanting a duck or chicken. towards the end of april a small chicken was deposited in my yard. a young broiler, a female. We assume she had escaped off the chicken truck.
My dad built a coop.. We got chicken food..
and she became rotten. I own a bearded dragon and kept the container of crickets in her shed. she would quite literially attack me until she got crickets. she knew.

She was attacked and killed last week. My father loved her more then anything on this planet.
He tore down her coop yesturday.

Idk what else to say. I'm kinda in shock still.. and it's still sad to think that she is not here.
She was so sweet

Sorry for your loss.

What attacked her?

I am sorry for your loss. I don't know your father but I would doubt that the above is true.

I hope that you guys stick with the hobby and raise or rescue more. Maybe the chicken was a gift (from God) that brought the two of you closer together and that is what he thinks has been lost.

In my humble opinion you shoud rebuild and "get back on the horse."

Best of luck to you both!

Oh my gosh, you guys must be so heart broken!!

I am so sorry for your loss, how terrible. I just found out that you live practically next door- I might have one (possibly two) blue laced red wyandotte roos that need a good home soon!

Hugs to you and your dad!! I also agree though, don't stop keeping chickens!

To You and your Dad. I am so sorry this happened to Mrs. Chicken. But just remember that she had a very good life while she was in your Family. Maybe God needed a sweet Mrs. Chicken. She was happy in this life you gave her. Please ask Dad to rebuild and get a couple of chickens there are more that need your love.
