Yesterday one of my hens started sitting on her clutch in the coop. Late yesterday afternoon she came out and then stayed on the pond overnight. (My Muscovies stay on the pond at night.) I’m sure it’s because she felt unsafe. My intentions were to close the coop at night but wasn’t fast enough before she left the nest. I did close it to protect her eggs. She was waiting to get into the coop first thing this morning. Should I just keep her closed up in the coop with food & water 24/7? 😞

It's normal for them to not constantly be on the eggs at first, once she really gets 'into it' it'll be hard to get her off!

I would still close up the coop at night if you can to keep her inside.
