i literally had to make an account here just to post this but here we go
im raising a 1 week old chick and everything was fine til when i checked on him it apparently fell on 1 side and it got entirely wet i did my best to dry him and now i wrapped him up in a hot towel like a taco should i do anything else?
p.s the heat lamp is broken i can only heat him by only changing towels

I usually do not open waterers with chicks until they are a couple of weeks old, because they can easily drown that way. Do you have other chicks, and how are they being kept warm? Can someone get to a feed store and buy a heat lamp? Get the chick dry with the towel and a hair dryer can help with the job. Then put the baby next to your skin inside your shirt to keep it warm until you get some heat. What is your temperature there, and do you have a broody hen raising the chick? Is the chick awake and alert?

hi thx for replying so there were 14 eggs and only this one hatched (the momma hen trampled the 3 others, other eggs didnt hatch so i separated them cuz the mom was kinda aggressive abt it) so there is only this one the temp is like 25C the chicks are eyes are closed (i think they re also wet so it just dosent wanna open them) it reacts to my touch and it twitches just like it would before and dosent chirp at all or chirps very slowly its 12:17 am as of writing this so i need to wait til tomorrow so i can buy a heat lamp

Have you dried the chick with a towel and hair dryer? Do you think if you slip the chick under then broody hen, that she will care for it or try to harm it? I hope the chick makes it, but it depends on if it got much water into its airway. Let us know how it gets along, but please try to warm the chick. Heating pads, hot water bottles, holding them next to your skin can work.

ok updating this thread again at 1:33 am the chick seems to have stabilized and now its sleeping with on its tummy and neck with legs stretched out i think the crisis has passed?

How warm is the air temperature? It sounds like the chick may be okay. If there is water in a container, add rocks to it so the chick cannot get into it, but can drink from it. Is the chick back with the broody? If not, I would place it under her in the dark as long as you think it will be safe.

coming back to update this at 9 57 am it woke up but it still looks sleepy it can stand on its legs now but its not drinking/eating and makes a weird clicking noise when breathing

The click may have something to do with his breathing. Does he have any places on his skin that look like air underneath the skin or signs of a leaking air sac? I would continue to offer food, maybe some moistened chick feed and mixed raw egg. Keep us posted on how it does.
