I have been going through withdrawl from my internet!! A big storm impacted my wireless internet provider, lightning hit their tower and it took 4 days to get it fixed!!!!!!!
My turkeys came in that I ordered from Cackle Hatchery...
All healthy and very active. I ordered 5 royal palm, 5 silver laced wyanodottes, (they sent 6) and 5 cornish jumbo meat birds.
The turkeys watched the chickens go for the water and food and they just joined in! They are so cute! I have them in with my 2 guineas I hatched out, and they were all confused! I bet they thought, where did all these birds come from!!!!

How cute! I'm jealous. I was supposed to have two Royal Palm poults, but ended up with something else. Not sure if mine are BBwhites or what, but they aren't RPs. Are yours all white, or do they have buttery yellow heads (can't tell if the flash is washing out the colors on the heads)? I was given the wrong info on identifying the poults at the feed store. We still love all of ours, but, in my opinion, the whites will not be nearly as beautiful as Royal Palms. Oh well.

my turkeys are almost white, all over. the Meat birds are the ones that are yellow. I have never found a feed store around here that has turkeys you can just go buy! Thats why I ended up with the extra birds, I only wanted a few turkeys!
I had 1 die, it was smaller than the rest, and didn't seem to be growing, the others are running around and full of energy!
I sure hope the rest make it.

I am putting them in a bigger brooder today, I think the chickens are picking at the turkeys.

How come noone told me that baby turkeys sing? I kept hearing these little tones, like sing a scale...very sweet sound, I thought it was the guineas, well, when I took one of my little guys out and put it on the table it looked at me and started singing!!! So Cute!!!!!!

See, that's what I was told: meat birds have a buttery yellow head. I was given all white birds, but now they are SO much bigger than my Spanish blacks, and have all white feathers, no black markings at all (I was told that RPs have black come in on their shoulders first). I'm confused! Maybe I just have MASSIVE RPs.

I can hope, right?
I didn't realize that I could order turkeys through our feed store until I picked up my ducks. I could order any type, and as many, or few, as I wanted. I only paid $8.00 each for the poults, didn't have to worry about shipping or a minimum order. I LOVE Golden Mill Feed! They do that with chicks, ducks, geese and turkeys. I don't know which hatchery they order from, I should ask.
Love your pics. And yes, my daughter and I were surprised to hear the turkeys "twirtle" as we called the sound they made.

Our BB white's were all white with some yellow tint on there heads as chicks.

These are about 2 to 3 weeks old. At about 5 weeks they were pretty much all white.

we have BB White, BB Bronze, Blue Slate, Bourban Reds.

maybe you have giant white? they get pretty big. I don't know when the black comes out on the royal palm, maybe someone else will know?
They are pretty cute though.
Your turkeys are cute too! Mine are just now a week old, and still white.

I don't know what we have, but we still love them. Luckily ours were meant as pets, because they are just feathered puppies, in my opinion. Although I have nothing against eating turkey.

They just have that dopey look, and want to be right up against our hands. Now that they are old enough to go outside for a while, they call out for us to be with them. The male gives us his big boy strut when we flutter our hands in front of him, and all of them are so curious about everything we do. Besides geese, I think they are the friendly fowl around. I love my chickens, and some are very friendly, but they can't compare with the turkeys! That may be blasphemy, on this website!
