My blind (or partially blind) duckling

It has been like this since she was born and i am not sure if it is possible to be born with cogenital cartaract or an infection. I will start her on the vitamins. I have been considering for a while seperating her at times durning the day so she can eat, thank you all so much!

I took her to the vet this afternoon, she is 100% blind. Hopefully she will live a good life, but she will rely on me for predator protection... She is a sitting duck, literally!

Your so sweet to take this time out of your life to care for her. and protect her. does she have a buddy besides you she can hang out with in a safe place when you can't be with her.?

She has three sisters who do a good job of helping her find stuff:)
That's so sweet. Sounds like she is in good hands.

I have a chicken chick that was born that way. It stays in a brooder and seems to find food and water okay.

I have a partially blind duck and he seems to be doing quite well, however he is not allowed to free range with his siblings. He fusses a bit when they get to run around but he gets extra veggies and meal worms to make up for it.

Thank you! I just love all the forums and advice. I'm learning so much about how to care for my chickens and ducks and love hearing about some of the antics. I'm also so impressed that everyone is so supportive instead of bashing the other persons opinion. Great job everyone!
