My buff Orpington chicks at 12 to 13 weeks do I have Hens or roosters?

These are my buff Orpington 12 to 13 week old chicks. I’m having trouble telling if I have roosters or hens. Any idea?

They all look like pullets to me (first called hens at one year of age ).
The one photo looks like it has a red light in it, so hard to tell with that on.

Seconded on pullets, I have 4 pullets and a cockerel and the cockerel was very clearly one far before 12 weeks.

So at 12 weeks a rooster would look different. They all look pretty much the same except two are bigger and will approach first.

How many weeks until I will know for sure? Would I already see the difference? Is it normal to have different size pullets? The two bigger chicks want to be held more than the smaller two. Is this normal amongst pullets?

Yes, a 12 week old cockerel (young rooster, less than one year of age) would have a fairly good size red comb and some wattles by now.

17-21 weeks, or when someone crows or not.

Yes, you more likely than not would. A cockerel who wasn't distinguishable by now would be an oddity.

That's normal. They're bigger and therefore higher in the hierarchy, making them a bit more bold.

Post individual photos of the two in question. But I suspect just normal variation. Some birds are just friendlier. Buff orpingtons are known to be friendly.
