My Chicken family is down to 2 girls (4-5years) is it okay to just keep 2 chickens?

While chickens hate change, they do adapt. I would add young birds with a panic room, so they can escape to safety. I have used it several times, with great success.

However, they are your birds, and it might be that you really want out of chickens. With the age of your birds, you are close to that naturally.
