My chicken is hurting and I don’t know how to help.

My black jersey giant hen has been favoring her leg. She wouldn’t move much and just sits so one might just assume she is broody. However because she was favoring her leg I’m not so sure. I am 19 and had my chickens ever since my junior year in high school (it’s been like 4 years maybe) I’m not the greatest chicken expert. I don’t think my grandma will allow me to take her to the vet just because she is a chicken...
She closes one eye sometimes, doesn’t lean on the favored leg, and she is breathing through her mouth. She eats and drinks okay, but I’m still worried regardless. I don’t want to make the wrong move and hurt her leg even more, and I’m not sure how to help it heal since I don’t even know what is wrong. What I will share and this may be normal Idk but she’s a pretty big chicken and I’ve noticed when I held her and stuff that I could hear a noise Everytime she breathed in or maybe it was out. I count be wrong but it reminded me of bones rubbing up against each other...

That is not a healthy chicken. There are a lot of questions I think will help people help you:
Is her leg injured that you can feel?
What is she eating?
How many other chickens do you have and what are they acting like?
What is the coop setup?
Also what does her poop look like?

Her left lower eyelid looks a bit swollen. Can you look inside the eye and check it for any bubbles/foam, irritation, or difference in eye color? Could she have been pecked in the eye? Are your roosts very high? It can be common for leg or foot injuries, sprains, or worse. Do you see any swelling, redness, or green bruising over the entire foot or leg? Is there any bumble foot scab on the foot pad. Does she put weight on the bad leg, hold it up, or have any curling under of the toes? I would keep her from jumping up and down from the roost, and limit her activity.

I figured out she was egg bound! She is doing much better now thankfully. I’m steal gonna try and bring her in someplace for close inspection though.

Thank you, but I realized she was egg bound and her foot was not injured, but limp because of the issue with the egg. She is doing much better now and happy as ever with the other chickens. I will still try and get her checked out for the noise I hear when she breaths at times, other than that though she is doing okay.
