That looks like egg membrane. She may have passed a shell-less egg, had one break inside, or sometimes they can pass parts of eggs. Have you seen any yolk or egg white in the floor, on her vent, or on any beaks of the other hens? Look in the nest boxes as well. Do you know which hen did this?

There is white and yolk and the stuff is like rubber, yes I know which chicken it was. No I don’t see any of that on her or the other chicken

She is having a problem with calcium or a problem with her oviduct. I would then get some human calcium citrate with vitamin D3 300-600 mg and give it orally right into her beak to swallow. They have the generic at Walmart for about $8 in the vitamin aisle. Repeat that daily for a total of 7 days. Does she eat a layer feed and have crushed oyster shell available?

Yes, she is fed a layer feed and has oyster shell available, she is 3 years old

It will be interesting to see if she responds to the calcium citrate with D. If it isn’t a calcium deficiency or problem absorbing it, it could be an oviduct issue with her shell gland. I hope it helps. She could have some weakness while having the soft eggs. Let us know what happens.

You'll see it all after a few years and some of what you will see will freak you out a little but it's usually all normal chicken stuff.

Thank you, I’ll make sure to get the vitamin and quarantine her to give her the medicine.
