Aquasol SafeGuard cattle wormer is a diluted water soluble wormer that can be used in the water for 5 without an egg withdrawal time. But it is very expensive, and most people just use the SafeGuard Liquid Goat wormer or horse paste 10% fenbendazole. Those need to be given undiluted orally.

Believe me, years ago I tried so-called herbal natural dewormers, cayenne pepper, garlic, and pumpkin seeds, but they do not treat a worm infestation. Valbazen is an excellent wormer 0.08 ml per pound of weight (about 1/2 ml for a 4-6 pound chicken) given orally once and then repeated in 10 days for round, cecal, gape, and capillary worms.

That is why most do not use it. You can try to get your vet to run a fecal float on some fresh droppings collected in a ziploc bag to see if they have worms and what kind. Call ahead though. Some of us who have a good relationship with our dog/cat vet may get a fecal float done if we have to bring in another pet for vaccines or care.

act fast but don't freak out. give them some fenbendazole. about a pea sized amount in each of their mouths. It will probably be in the horse section of your feed store.

This should be arriving any moment for me. I can't see worms, but my girl is just boney and not filling out even though she's growing, barely a comb. No eggs, and she should be nearing 8 months. She was molting, but I think that's past.

SafeGuard Liquid goat wormer is inexpensive and dosage is 0.25 ml (1/4 ml) per pound given for 5 consecutive days. A pea sized dose is not accurate. Get a syringe and give 1/4 ml per pound.

Update: Thank you for this! I bought this and gave them each a pea size. It’s been 7 days since their first dose, and I haven’t seen any worms since. We haven’t been eating their eggs but I was curious, if by day 10, I do not see worms again, do I have to give them the second dose? They seem to be doing great right now, but i understand a treatment is a treatment.

Also, I believe they had cecal worms.
