I need a better male is why he barely has a crest and skin is black

That's great, the skin can be a big problem when crossing with other breeds.

Wow she looks awesome! So this was the result of crossing the am/silkie to silkie, then crossing those babies to a silkie? She looks almost pure silkie already. Love it! I’m guessing the blue egg gene didn’t make it through the process?

i dont know having silkies that lay blue eggs might be fun, and bring a nice variety to a flock.
