I'm just saying the last joint looks to me like it is missing.
In N.H.,Tony.
Could that have happened when she hurt herself?

Yes. If you can, spread the wing out as far as possible for a photo; try to have your hand out of the picture as much as possible. The joint could have been damaged to the point that the feathers would not grow back; but I find that doubtful. If that had been the case I think you would have noticed more damage than just missing feathers and a little blood. Did she use the wing right after hurting it? If not, can you remember about how long it was before the wing was being used? Losing feathers alone would not have bothered her for long; real damage would have taken weeks to heal.Could that have happened when she hurt herself?
It could be that she had molted just before her accident. Hopefully the feathers will grow in nice and strong and she will be as good as ever. And if not, she will be a wonderful pet anyway. You're right, it does look like new feathers are growing (Murphy's law LOL.) If they are, how come it took so long for them to grow? That took a really, really, long time for them to grow.
Yes, I'm really hoping that is what happened. She is the sweetest birdie in the universe and she will always be loved no matter what. I'll try to get her and Tweety to eat better, maybe that will speed up the growing process. Thank you so much for helping me with this, I'll keep you updated.
