Here are my day old Royal Purple Guinea Keets. The just got here this morning. I was surprised about their color. The are beautiful, but I thought that they would be all brown with the stripes. I love the white on them. Got them from Cackle Hatchery and they are all doing great.

They are adorable. I wouldn't have thought they would have white on them either. Now I want some !!! Thanks !!! lol

I just found 11 in the weeds that just hatched. Look just like them but I don't have royal purple. Mine are all mixed so this ought to be interesting.

ps how did you get the video to upload? I'm having problems.

Thank you. I had to put it on Youtube first then hit that little "film strip" button at the top of where you post your message. Just copy and paste in the URL and it will show up.

By about 6 weeks of age they start losing neck fuzz, (maybe a little sooner if your coop/brooder set up is extra warm during hot weather), then between 8-10 weeks old they start looking like they got a bad buzz job by a drunk barber, with a set of dull clippers

That's funny about the barber. I took one of my 5 week old bantam hens, who is the sweetest little thing and never fights with any of the others. I put her in with the keets this morning. After she finished off their scrambled eggs and looked around alittle at the cage, which is the same cage she was in with the others when they got here 5 weeks ago. She did not mind the keets and they were not afraid of her. She walked on a couple of them to get in the middle and then laid down with them. The keets are appreciating the hen more than she is liking being there. But she is not upset, maybe a little confused about where the other 19 bantams are.So, does this seem ok, for both the keets and the hen? Or am I ruining her for going back to the other chickens. I don't want the chickens to beat her up when she comes back. As soon as the keets are as big as the chickens, they will all be living together in the same coop. Let me know what you think.
