Hey guys,
I am brand new to ducks! I have six Blue Swedish ducklings that will be two weeks old tomorrow.
I changed their bedding this morning and did not notice anything out of the norm. Everyone went right back to the water as soon as I put them back in their home. They enjoy a swim in a kiddie pool while I clean their tub.
I changed their bedding just a few minutes ago, and I noticed one duck had lost a lot of feathers. It (not too sure of gender) looked worse when the duck was wet but still looks a bit bald now that it is dry dry. It seems to limp/flail and cannot walk. Each time I put the duck back in with the other 5 it runs and shoves itself under the others. They will stand and walk all over it. I have put the duck in it's own box now just incase it is a contagious illness, and it has not touched the food or water. This ducks is also smaller than the others. I did not think much of it, but now I am concerned since these other symptoms showed up today.
I have tried to do research, but nothing involves all these symptoms. The closest thing I found was Botulism when it referenced limpness, but that doesn't quite describe how this duck is acting. This duck just cant seem to coordinate its legs to walk. I looked to see if a leg was injured, but nothing noticable was out of the ordinary.
Thanks for reading, and I hope someone with more knowledge can help me keep my little duckling healthy!
