Hello.
The left eye of my female Peking duck, seen in the photos about 2 weeks ago, was closed when I woke up in the morning. When I looked, it was pulled into the eye, but no damage was visible. (I don't know if he pecked my chickens or got garbage in his eyes, they stay in the coop with the other ducks and chickens)
As an antiseptic, I dropped black tea into his eyes a few times that day and wiped the area around him with tea-infused cotton. The next day, his eye started to be covered with a white layer. Since I thought the tea was not enough, I started making him swallow the antibiotic doxycycline and pouring one drop into his eye. Even though I gave it for a week, the whiteness in the eye darkened. (the middle part of the whiteness probably wrinkles when he closes his eyes and looks darker white, I'm not exactly sure)
When I saw that it had no effect, I made a mixture of thyme tea and sage tea, made him swallow it, and dropped it into his eye, as well as Gentavet eye drops, since I was not sure which one would work. I made him swallow a clove of garlic every day, a multivitamin and brewer's yeast and mixed it with his food. I gave him turmeric by mixing it with water. I mixed turmeric and ginger (half a teaspoon each) and made him swallow it once. (liquid ones with a syringe). Although his appetite has decreased, there is no problem in his eating and vitality. Even though I controlled it with slow and fast movements by hand throughout this process, he does not react at all and cannot see from his left eye.
Does anyone have an idea for a solution as a medicine or herb? Can't we save this eye? What exactly does the white layer on your eye mean? Can the eye see when the layer is removed?
I would be happy if you help.
