My hen has no wing and she is still ALIVE!!

We don't have one close. I would have to go to ATL. My vet can't do anything. He is stilling me to get rid of her. It would be easier if someone told me what to do. I hate this !!!!!

But I do want to see how this goes the next couple of days. If I feel she can't be put into the coop with the others I think it would be best for her to go to chick heaven.

Everyone has been wonderful !!!

that stinks!
I hope she gets better. I would keep the wound clean put her on antiboitics, warm and all that good stuff we do. See how she does.
Keep us updated!

I am amazed how well she is doing. I tried to take pics but they all were blurry. I will try and post some soon. I have been giving her antibotics by mouth and ointment. Her comb is trying red again. And she isn't pale anymore. I really thought I have to do what I didn't want to do. Thanks to everyone for your support. I will keep you updated.

if treated and cleaned and kept properly, she can and will survive. my grandpa had a magpie with one wing live longer than his siblings. i am so sorry that this is happening to you AND her! i hope she gets well! best of luck!

meraucanamomma if you put effort into it she will live. take a strip of cloth and wrap it around her wing ,being careful not to cover her vent or legs. Clean the wound with diluted peroxide then soak it in diluted betadine. Afterwards put her with the other girls and monitor her closely for 2 hours. if she adapts and the others accept her then leave her there. If not build her a cage 2 ft tall X 4 ft long X 2 ft wide[this is not too small] and let her live inside with you. If you do this right she will be up and laying in no time. But please dont kill her because its very easy to save her.
