My hen thinks she's a tribble?

Recently I took in a 2 year old white Bantam Cochin hen. I'm keeping her under quarantine in a small separate cage before I introduce her to my other hens. She's tame and quite the little talker, she makes a range of sounds when I talk to her, and when I leave the room.

A couple of days ago, she started making a peculiar trilling sound. It sounds almost exactly the same as a tribble on Star Trek, or like a cricket. I'm curious to know what this sound means? She tends to make it in the afternoons and doesn't appear to be in any stress when she does it. She's doing it off and on right now.

Here's what she looks like:

Funny. I love my bantam cochins, some of mine are frizzles. Sounds like that happy little singing noise they make that sounds like humming to me. She's adorable.

She's my first one, my other two are Silkies. She was given to me because her egg laying had slowed down. She's got curly butt feathers which look cute! I'm glad her chirping noise means contentment. I worry that she gets lonely in that cage by herself. I've noticed my Silkies make the same sound, but only briefly while they're settling down for the night.

Today I was giving my Silkies their favourite greens, and while I was bent over, I passed gas - "prrrt!"
Immediately, two heads popped up from the dish and peered around, heads cocked this way and that,
then
"Trrrrt!"
"Trrrrt!"

I guess they thought I was feeling happy!
